‘I had the revelation of this song at a time a company I was working with was in dreadful financial crisis’ were the words of the original composer of the song.
‘My company had we pray timely to intervene whatever crises we were faced with. ‘I went back to my desk after one of the prayer sessions and I had the revelation of the song Matwen Awurade Anim’.
Rev. George Owusu of the Grace Baptist Church, Kumasi composed the song in the year 1987. He is believed to be one of the cornerstones of the gospel music fraternity in Ghana.
His son, Kofi Owusu Peprah has in recent years received the gifting of the Holy Spirit and his father to minister this song to the generation of worshippers he lives in and it has been nothing but impactful ever since it’s release.
Kofi on the 22nd of May, 2022 held a concert in honor of his father at the National theater, Accra Ghana dubbed ‘The Father’s Gift’ concert.
People from different parts of the capital trouped in to witness the amazing legacy God has led through the Rev. George and his generation.
Spirit-filled sensational worshippers such as Luigi McLean, Amy Newman, Efe Grace, Niiella and Sammie Obeng Poku led hundreds into the presence of Jesus.
Kofi Owusu Peprah also launched The Father’s Gift album which is available on all digital music spaces.
