Sensational Ghanaian Gospel Minister Akesse Brempong has made a revelation in relation to how Gospel Musicians can follow the trends of the World now to predict the type of songs they should be doing to catch up and win souls for God.
In our interview with Him, we asked how he would rate the current Gospel Industry here in Ghana and He said “ I think we are growing. For the past five years, we have seen a shift in the Gospel terrain. The contemporary Gospel is now getting more appreciation than it used to.
He also added that Joe Mettle winning Gospel Artiste of the Year In 2017 is a case in point to prove that Gospel Music is getting more appreciation.
In as much we getting this appreciation doesn’t mean we are there yet. There’s more room for improvement. Gospel Music should find its place on mainstream Radio and should be able to compete with the secular songs he added.
In submission, he added that When you are look at our current Radio Playlists, it’s genre centric and so that’s why He believed that Gospel Musicians must diversify into Mainstream Genres and excel in there like Afrobeats, Reggae etc….
Akesse added that God is not against Music Genres. God didn’t call any music into Repentance. It is the person who does the music he called into repentance. If the vessel that is doing the music is clean, you sanctify the music you are doing and so therefore Gospel Musicians must be able to predict and follow the trend that is coming to fit in and win soul for God through that.
